Cooper Celebrates Hmong New Year with North High’s Hmong Cultural Group
On Monday, November 21st, Cooper Elementary School celebrated Hmong New Year. Students wore traditional clothing. Austin, a 4th grade student, played his Queej. North High’s Hmong Cultural Group preformed with traditional Queej playing, dancing, ball tossing, a story and a lesson on Hmong fashion. After the performance, Cooper’s students enjoyed egg rolls and sticky rice made by Cooper staff members.
