SASD Employees ‘Go for the Gold’ for Good Health
Over the summer, nearly 150 Sheboygan Area School District employees and their families participated in a “Going for the Gold” Olympic wellness challenge. As part of the challenge, families reported their weekly minutes of exercise which were then converted to miles.  Participants exercised 3,917 miles/minutes to get to London and earn the Olympic Gold Medal. For exercising 2,610 minutes, participants earned a Silver medal and 1,305 minutes earned a Bronze medal. By the end of the challenge, 106 Gold, 25 Silver, and 8 Olympic Bronze medals were awarded. Every participant earned a “Going for the Gold” t-shirt.

This wellness activity is just one of many offered through the Sheboygan Area School District wellness program throughout the year, coordinated by the district Wellness Coordinator Jeri Dreikosen.
