Grant Celebrates 'Book-o-Ween' Day
Grant Elementary School students and staff participated in a “Fall Into Books Book-O-Ween” Day! This event was an educational celebration of literature and book characters following the annual Scholastic Book Fair and Fall Recess. Students came dressed as a favorite storybook character on Monday, October 29th and participated in a Storybook Character Parade, listened to teachers read a fall favorite story and joined in a school-wide reading session. Students prepared for this culminating activity through unique experiences in Reading Interventions Groups. Classes wrote book reports, participated in book-talks, did character sketches and developed library skills. The bonus for students was an opportunity to earn extra minutes on their monthly reading calendars to enter in a drawing for a new bicycle in June!
