South High School Botany Students Learn at Maywood
South High School Biology students went to Maywood to observe different ecosystems including a prairie, deciduous forest, and aquatic.  They took samples of each ecosystem in order to analyze how healthy they were.  This was part of an ecology unit studied in 1st quarter.


Rebecca Clark, naturalist at Maywood, discusses biotic and abiotic factors in a deciduous forest, as well as characteristics of that type of forest in this area of the state.  The students analyzed that habitat, as well as the prairie and river ecosystems while there.
