Cooper Secures Grant to Fund Field Trip to Milwaukee County Zoo
On Friday October 4th, over 100 Cooper students in first through third grades visited the Milwaukee County Zoo. The field trip was made possible by a grant written through the Kohl's Cares for Kids Field Trip Grant Program. Cooper students applied what they had been learning about rain forest animals to identify adaptations animals such as orangutans, lemurs, fruit bats, spider monkeys and poison dart frogs use to survive in the wild. Students had also been studying the layers of the rainforest and what animals live in which layers. The children, staff and parent chaperones had an amazing time and hope to be able to enjoy this experience again next year.
