Third Grade Students Receive Dictionaries from Sheboygan Elks Lodge #299
Sheboygan Area School District third grade students each received a dictionary donated by the Sheboygan Elks Lodge #299. To date, nearly 5,200 dictionaries have been distributed to students over the last seven years by the Elks Lodge as part of the nationwide nonprofit The Dictionary Project. The goal of the project is to see all their students become good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners. The dictionaries are for the children to keep and use throughout this school year and beyond. In addition to the book donations, the Elks Lodge #299 also provides equipment donations to James Madison Elementary School, scholarships for graduating seniors and Student of the Month recognitions.
