Wilson Students Enjoy Civil War History Experience at the Historical Museum
Three fifth grade classrooms from Wilson Elementary School recently attended the new ‘Civil War History Experience’ offered by the Sheboygan County Historic Museum. After starting the day by signing their induction papers, students rotated through several stations to learn about camp life and medical technology of the time, mend their own uniforms and sew on buttons, taste hardtack, a staple food of soldiers of the time, and drill with mock rifles. This new program offered by the museum enhances the fifth grade social studies curriculum in the Sheboygan Area School District.
