North High School Student Organizes Music Education Showcase
Hilary Mayer, a senior at Sheboygan North High School has organized a Music Education Showcase that will take place on Thursday, April 17th at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. This event is meant to showcase what students in the Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) learn in music classes and express the importance of music in a well-rounded education. Both shows will feature 10 performers from Sheboygan Area School District students in grades 4 through 12.
“I feel that music is extremely important in a child’s education. I want to stand up for what I am passionate about, and I want to make a difference before I graduate. This showcase will not only exhibit the talents that we have in our community, but also show how music has influenced and inspired many students of all ages throughout the district” said Hilary Mayer.
Tickets are $5.00 and will be sold at the door. All money raised will go to Friends of Music, an organization that seeks contributions to enhance music students' educational opportunities for grades K-12 in the Sheboygan Area School District.
