TODAY'S EVENTS

  1. STUDENT DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS - after today, the announcements can be found on Haiku. Check your Gmail for the link to copy and paste, then bookmark! (You need to highlight the ENTIRE link) Student athletes that participate in outdoor sports should check it frequently for game and practice updates when bad weather is forecasted.

  2. Do you miss the French Connection brat fries from last school year? If so, you can fulfill your craving by come out to the French Connection's brat fry being held this SUNDAY at Festival Foods. Hope to see you there!

  3. Chromebook Reminder - VERY IMPORTANT!! Don't use your Chromebook while it is in its case - it will overheat! Take it out of the case to work and put it back in the case to travel.

  4. REMINDER that all students must follow the School Board Policy on dress code. As indicated in the student handbook, hats and jackets must be kept in lockers. Students must wear appropriate clothing that covers the midriff and undergarments. Clothing that suggests the use of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs, gang membership, or profanity will not be allowed. Please double-check that you are abiding by these expectations before entering the building.

  5. HELP NEEDED - Taste of Haiti is looking for students to help out with their event on Friday, September 26th. The needs would be set up, serve and technology assistance. If interested, please see Ms. Speltz, the school social worker, in the counseling center.

  6. ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS - Looking for academic help? Check out the Humanities lab, in room 236, for teachers available for academic support focused on reading, writing and discussing (social sciences). Or try the STEM lab, in room 244, which has teachers available for academic support focusing on science, technology, engineering and math.

  7. Sheboygan County RoboRiot FIRST Robotics Team Registration Night! Registration and information night for all new and returning Sheboygan County High School or Home School, 9th – 12th grade students is Thursday, September 11, 2014, 6:00-7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Sheboygan Falls High School, 220 Amherst Ave., Sheboygan Falls, in Room E108. Please use entrance door #25 at the back of the high school.

  8. Guest Passes for Homecoming - are available in the student office. A NHS student may bring a guest to a NHS event only if the guest form is completed and sign by an administrator by October 2nd NOON NO LATER. Only guests of High School Age or who have graduated within the past year, are eligible to attend. Give the form to your guest to have it signed by one of his/her school personnel.  Once this is completed you take the form to the NHS office to have it signed by an administrator. All Students/Guests entering the dance must have a picture ID.

  1. DRUMLINE - Tryouts will be Sept. 15 and 16th, from 6:30-8:00pm - you must make one of those days (recommend to be at both) and then pick a time for Sept. 17th. Not sure what time the actual tryout will be on the 17th. This will depend on how many individuals tryout. Questions, please contact Mrs. Ten Pas at ttenpas@sasd.net.

Attention everyone who signed up for Just Drive Drivers Education at registration - The next class starts Monday September 15th, and runs through October 8th, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, in room 153. If you have not signed up yet you still can, by calling 980-3000, going to our website www.justdrivewi.com and registering or by just coming to the first class on September 15th.

  3. ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE??? POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL SIGN UP GOING ON NOW-outside Room 257!!! All junior and senior girls are invited to be a part of this year's powder PUFF football event. The game is on Wednesday, Oct. 1st at 6:30 on the North High Football field with practice schedules to be posted soon. You can sign up to get a shirt even if you can't play-and still support your team. Get involved in HOMECOMING and have some fun! This event is sponsored by your BLUE CREW!

  4. BUMP...SET...SPIKE! Powder BUFF Volleyball Sign up going on NOW!!! Get your team together (6 to 8 person-max) and get involved in this year's Homecoming Powder BUFF volleyball event. The BUFF tourney is set for Monday, Sept. 29th at 6:30 in the Fieldhouse. There is a 16 team limit so get your team roster in EARLY to secure your spot! Rosters are available outside Room 257 on the bulletin board.

  5. Karate-Based Martial Arts Program - The Sheboygan Area School District Community Recreation Department is offering Karate-based Martial Arts for middle school age thru adult at the North High multi -purpose room on Tuesday and Thursdays beginning September 16. The class meets from 6:30-7:30 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday thru November 13.  A free introductory class will be offered on Thursday, September 11 6:30-7:30 p.m. This lifetime sport will engage the mind and body and combine combative movements with cardio-vascular fitness. The class is taught by Mr. George Joseph who is a 4th degree black belt in open hand style and 2nd degree black belt in karate weapons.See the Recreation Department Fall catalog for more details. Cost is $45 for adult residents, $67.50 for non-residents, $38.25 for residents 65 and older. Pre-register at the Community Recreation Department, 607 S. Water St., Sheboygan, or register online at www.sheboyganrec.com. Questions, call 459-3773.

ATTENTION FILM LOVERS: You are welcome to come to room 256 after school on Wednesday, 9/17, to hear and share ideas regarding the activities of this year's film club.  Our activities will center around watching and discussing great films and producing our own films.  Students of all film expertise and grade levels are welcome.

  1. REMINDER that all students must follow the School Board Policy on dress code. As indicated in the student handbook, hats and jackets must be kept in lockers. Students must wear appropriate clothing that covers the midriff and undergarments. Clothing that suggests the use of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs, gang membership, or profanity will not be allowed. Please double-check that you are abiding by these expectations before entering the building.

TODAY'S EVENTS

  1. SAY CHEESE!!! Picture Retake day is TODAY, Sept. 10th, in the Multi Purpose room located by the Commons area. Photographers will be taking pictures from 7:00 am to approximately 1:00pm. If you have not yet had your picture taken for the Yearbook,  your ID or Activity card, you MUST have this done. Picture order forms are available in any of the North High School Offices.

  2. STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING: The first Student Council meeting will be held on the evening of Wednesday, September 10th, at 7:00pm in the Library. We will be discussing the years event calendar, assigning committee roles, and finalizing Homecoming details. All students are welcomed to join. If you are interested in joining Student Council but are unable to attend the meeting, please talk with Mr. Lenz in Room 162.

  3. Drumline - Mandatory Parent/Student Meeting - Drumline informational meeting for students trying out and their parents on Sept 10th, at 6:00pm in the North High Commons.

Calls will be made throughout the day directing students to make their way to the IMC for deployment. If you are interested in joining Student Council but are unable to attend the meeting, please talk with Mr. Lenz in Room 162.

  2. Drumline - Mandatory Parent/Student Meeting - Drumline informational meeting for students trying out and their parents on Sept 10th, at 6:00pm in the North High Commons.

  4. Hey Drama Stage Crew Students - The work for this years musical, Into the Woods, has already begun. The stage crew is meeting every day from 4:00 to 6:00 to work on the set at South High School.

  9. Key Club will meet on Monday, Sept. 8th at 3:20 in room 131. We will meet every Monday. Anyone is welcome!
