TODAY'S EVENTS        

  • North High will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on April 25 from 8am-2pm.  Make sure to bring an ID to the Desotell gym and make sure to hydrate.  There will be Big Apple Bagels in the morning and Little Caesars pizza during lunch! Your donation will help save 3 lives!
  • This year the theme of “North Being North” is taking form as an art installation composed of many – hopefully hundreds if not thousands- of images from our school that capture the essence of how student engagement, respect, and ownership are demonstrated every day at North. We are asking you to share school photos of things that have occurred at North over the past year that demonstrate this theme of “North Being North.”  Photos you have taken can be sent to the NHS Twitter account shebnhs on twitter. All photos need to be submitted no later than 4:00pm on Monday April 28th in order to be considered for inclusion in this project. If you have questions feel free to contact Mr. Jelinek-Zittel, Mr. Kletzien, Mr. Johannes, or Ms. Adamavich.
  • The North High Bands will be presenting their Spring Band Concert this Sunday, April 27, at 7:00 PM.  A special feature of this concert is the recognition of 12th Grade Band members.  A wide variety of musical styles will be presented including jungle jazz music, Gaelic music, old television comedy favorites, Disney selections, and selections from Phantom of the Opera.  The concert is free and open to the public.
  • April is School Library Month. Celebrate by visiting the LIBRARY this week April 21 - 25 (or every week). Love your Library!
  • Seniors – If you have money left in your lunch account that you no longer plan on using, please fill out a form in the general office for reimbursement.  The list is posted in the window.
  • The North High Drama banquet will be held in the North High commons on Monday, May 5th. Please note the change in location from the original invitation. All those attending the banquet need to let Mr. Johnson know by the end of the day on Friday if you hope to attend and receive an award.
  • There will be a rehearsal for DANCERS AMONG US on Thursday at 3:45 until 4:45 in the auditorium. All dancers are expected to attend. This will be our only rehearsal before Expo. See Mr. Johnson if you have questions.

Come and dunk some of your favorite teachers in the courtyard at EXPO - featured teacher "dunkees" include: Brickson, Tagel, Tenpas, Spielmann, Farvour, Jensinski, and our Administrators in the tank are Mr. Thennes and Mr. Stengel. Balls are 3 for $2.00 OR you can do the "automatic dunk" for $5.00!!! Water...water...everywhere - they're gonna get WET!!! This expo event is sponsored by R.A.D.A.
  • CAN YOU HEAR THE THUNDER??? North High's literary magazine the Distant Thunder will be sold at EXPO - May 3rd. Over 80 writers, artists, and photographers from North will be featured in this year's magazine. Cost of this awesome book is $10.00. If you miss it at EXPO extra copies will be sold in room 257.
  • Fans Revolution will meet every Friday at 3:15pm in the Library.
  • Thursday Morning Hunger = Donuts and Bagels. Assuage that hunger with a donut or bagel which can be found on sale in the auditorium lobby each Thursday morning.  Donuts are $1.25 and Bagels are $1.00.
  • Slam Poetry will meet every Thursday after school in room 202.  All are welcome.
  • Discrimination Awareness. We will be spreading diversity and awareness by helping middle schoolers understand it. Any students that are willing to speak to younger students are encouraged to join. Come support the cause and stop discrimination. We are meeting after school on Wednesdays at 2:40 in room 244.

  • IMPORTANT SUMMER SCHOOL NOTICE - Summer school credit make-up course registration information is now available in the Counseling Center.  If you know that you need to take a summer school class, register early since classes fill quickly! Booklets for Summer Enrichment Classes are also available in the Counseling Center.
  • JUNIORS & SENIORS - Are you interested in a nursing program? If so, please consider attending the Summer Nursing Camp at Marian University on June 16 - 19. To register, apply at: www.marianuniversity.edu/nursecamp.

  • Seniors - Please take 30 seconds to fill out the graduation plan sheet. You should receive it 3rd hour this week. Return it to your teacher when done, or drop it off in room 252.

Unfortunately no "walk-ins" will be allowed for students who have not registered for this class. There is LIMITED spots still available for the two June 16th classes.   • A Special Congratulations to: Junior Nadia John for being selected to be featured in the Creative Communications Book honoring outstanding high school writers from around the nation. Her essay entitled "Intuition Replaces Intelligence in the Poet" was chosen as one of the best and will be published in this book due out in fall of 2014. Congratulations Nadia!
  • A representative of the Ship 50 Venturing Sea Scouts of the Sheboygan Yacht Club will be here Tuesday, April 22nd, looking for High School Age Co-ed youth to be a part of their sailing, racing, cruising and kayaking program. If you want to be apart of exciting and challenging activities this summer, look for the Ship 50 Representative today in the cafeteria during the both lunch periods.

  • Senior Athletes - if you have received a varsity letter during your senior year please stop and pick up an elk's banquet invitation that will be held on Sunday May 4th at the Elk's club. This is a great banquet and great scholarship opportunities. Stop and see Kelly in the student office ASAP as she needs to know either way if you are attending or not attending by April 21.    
  • Interested in North Dance Team? Try-out practices start Monday, April 21st in the Commons at 6:00pm. See posters throughout the school for details or the North web site for information. Questions - Contact Coach Rautmann.
