Welcome to Sheridan School
“Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe”
Sheridan Elementary School is a school with a rich history of diverse families and staff. Our families bring a rich variety of backgrounds and experiences to a creative, innovative, and dedicated staff. Today, the staff, students and families that pass through our doors carry on the legacy and love of learning.
The staff at Sheridan is committed to providing a quality education for all children in a safe and inviting environment. The goal of our staff is to meet the needs of all learners through differentiated instruction, best practices, and quality assessment for learning. We provide students with multicultural activities integrated into our curriculum aimed on enriching the cultural experiences at Sheridan.
Sheridan Elementary has an on going commitment to Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) program. This program is centered around three core rules. These rules are Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.
The PBIS system works at Sheridan by rewarding students that are following these rules. When students are caught following these rules, they will be given a reward called a PAWS Ticket. Students will then turn in these tickets for a chance at a weekly drawing of fun prizes. Also, all students that follow these rules for an entire quarter will be rewarded with a school wide celebration that will include events like popcorn parties, skating parties and other fun events.
It is Sheridan’s goal to help every child become the best student they can be. To do this it is important to educate students both academically and behaviorally. It is our belief that the combination of Sheridan’s extensive academic instruction coupled with positive behavior supports will make for an great school year for your son or daughter.
Sheridan is a neighborhood school that responds to what our community needs. This can only be done with strong relationships and good communication with everyone involved at Sheridan. I invite you to visit Sheridan at any time. As principal of Sheridan it is always my pleasure to meet with you.
