Attention all Students: This past weekend the varsity cheer team competed at the 2015 WACPC Northern Cheer Regional competition in the Coed Small division. At this competition, the team had to earn their bid to compete at WACPC State Cheer. The team competed against 3 other teams and walked away as the 2015 WACPC Coed Small Regional Champions, earning their bid to compete at state this following weekend in Madison! Congratulations to all the members of the Varsity Coed Cheer team and Good Luck at State!

Attention all Students: On Saturday, South High Forensics continued their season with a tournament at Kaukauna High School. Thanks to all the hard work of South's competitors, the team placed 2nd out of 36 schools in attendance. Individual winners from South include: Devin Hass, Matt Matysik, and Holly Reinl, in Solo Serious Acting, Amanda Hoffman in both Farrago and Solo Humorous Acting, Samantha Zabel, Holly Reinl, Alexis Pautz, and Lacey Nufer in Group Interpretation, Alexis Pautz in Farrago, Abbie Wagaman in Oral Interpretation of Literature, and Colton Wickland in Radio Announcing. Alex Kerr placed 2nd in Moments in History. And Ivalu Siegstad was the tournament champion in the category of Special Occasion Speaking. Congratulations to all the South High Forensics students.

Travelers Going to Greece in the Summer of 2016
: There will be a meeting on Monday, Feb. 23 at 6pm in the library. Please be there to discuss fundraising options and tour plans. Those still interested...there are still spaces available. Feel free to come to the meeting to get more information.

Attention Soccer Girls: Don’t forget the parent meeting on Feb. 25 at 6:00 in the LGI.

Calling All Students:
Chromebook chargers are $15.00 if yours is broken or lost, go and buy a new one in the activities office, bring your receipt to Mrs. G at the helpdesk and you will receive a new charger.

Attention all Students: South High School will be offering the Accuplacer on Wednesday, February 25th at 8am. Remember- if you are a sophomore or junior who are applying for a Youth Apprenticeship next year and have not yet taken the Accuplacer, this will be your last opportunity to take it at South before the deadline! Sign up in the Counseling Center.

Attention all Students: If you were unable to attend the Track Meeting, please see Coach Tutas in Room 207 for the information. Just a reminder that the season begins on March 9th.

Attention all Students: There will be a coin drive this week collecting all coins and any dollar amount during homeroom. All proceeds will be going to Jake Kirschner’s Fund. Let’s come together and help other kids battling cancer in honor of Jake.

Attention all Seniors:
if you are a student of color and planning to attend UW-Whitewater for Business, see Mr. Stone this week. An opportunity to earn scholarship money while participating in a great college orientation event exists. See him this week.

Attention all Students: The Sheboygan South High cheer team will be hosting a "State Send Off" showcase Friday night. This showcase will be held in the Redwing gym starting at 6p featuring the State Champion South JV team, the North High varsity cheer team and your very own Coed Small Regional Champs, the South High Varsity Cheer team. Be sure to come and support the varsity teams and wish them good luck as they head to the WACPC State Cheer Championship on Saturday in Madison.

Attention GSA  Members: We will be having a meeting on Monday March 2nd, right after school in room 274. It will be VERY brief but IMPORTANT in order to plan for Day of Silence. If you have another meeting that day after school-- that is fine. Just stop by room 274 quickly after school on Monday. (2-26, 2-27)

Attention Seniors Applying for Scholarships and Grants:
Do you meet any two of the following criteria?
I was, or am now, a ward of the state/county or am living alone without any support
from my parents.
My parent(s) or I am receiving food stamps or have a medical card.
My parent(s) are receiving welfare benefits.
My parents are unemployed and do not receive unemployment compensation (not
homemaker)
We live in government (subsidized) housing.
I am homeless.
I am from a single parent family.
My parent(s) receives Social Security benefits or SSI.
My parents cannot live adequately on their low income.
I have a disability and am a client of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
When I go to college, I will need to be in a program that provides special help with
my classes.
Neither of my parents graduated from a 4-year college.
I am, or have been, in the WIA Program.
I am eligible for the free/reduced meal program

Attention all Students: CBS Chanel 58 newsman Josh Landon will be speaking at Lakeland College this Saturday night, from6 - 8 pm, in the Bradley Theatre. This evening is sponsored by Lakeland's Black Student Union, and is free to the general public.

Attention Any Student interested in Trap Shooting
:You are invited to participate in the Sheboygan County High School Trap League. The League is open to anyone 6th through 12th grade. Sign up will take place Thursday February 26th 2015 at 5:30 PM at the Farmers and Sportsman’s Club, 2412 N 44thStreet Sheboygan. Practices will start Thursday March 5th 2015 at 3:00-5:30and be held every Thursday throughout the season, competitions will be held on Saturday mornings starting April 4th 2015. JUNIORS! Your Physical Education department wants you to do well on ACT's. The fitness center is open before school on both Tuesday and Wednesday. REMEMBER that if you get your heart into it's target heart rate zone for 20 minutes prior to academic's your brain works better in all areas. We encourage you to utilize this resource.

Attention all Students: Youth Options paperwork for next fall is due NO LATER than Monday, March 2, by 3:30pm, in the Counseling Center.)

This is just a reminder for next week…ONLY juniors come to school on Tuesday, March 3 AND Wednesday, March 4. Juniors only will be ACT testing both days. Again, Freshmen, Sophomores and Seniors DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL NEXT TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY.
