Alex Awards - A selection of adult books that will appeal to teen readers.  A new group is awarded each year!


Best Books for Young Adults - These books, selected by the Young Adult Services Association of the the American Library Association, are recommended for ages 12-18.  They meet the criteria of both good quality literature and appealing reading for teens.  The winning titles comprise an extremely diverse list that includes verse novels, graphic novels, fantasy, realistic fiction, comedy, historical fiction, and of course nonfiction.

Best Books for Young Adults

Best Fiction for Young Adults - In 2011, this honor replaced the Best Books for Young Adults honor.  YALSA's webpage describes this award as follows: "YALSA’s Best Fiction for Young Adults Committee presents fiction titles published for young adults in the past 16 months that are recommended reading for ages 12 to 18. The purpose of the annual list it to provide librarians and library workers with a resource to use for collection development and reader’s advisory purposes."  Check out the newest honorees!

Outstanding Books for the College Bound -Updated every five years, this comprehensive list provides reading recommendations to students who plan to continue their education beyond high school.  A new list will be compiled for 20014.
