Fall Blood Drive Collects 80 Pints
Story by: Rachel Fettig
November is a very busy month for giving.
With the Student Council Blood Drive on Nov. 1 and the Lake Breeze newspaper/Student Council Food Drive from Nov. 6 - 20, the students at South have plenty of opportunities to give to people in the community who need help.
Jon Schrank, head of Student Council, was hoping to receive about 100 or more students to sign up and around 100 pints of blood.
As of Wednesday Oct. 31, he reported having about 88 volunteers signed up to donate. At the end of the day, 80 pints were donated.
In addition, during this year’s food drive, Lake Breeze newspaper and Student Council hope to get enough non-perishable items to completely fill up principal Michael Trimberger’s office.
Jesus Rivera and Bradley Pfeifer are in charge of what the students should bring this year for the food drive.
“Everything from the food drive goes to the Sheboygan Salvation Army’s pantry which is completely empty right now,” said Schrank.
