Sheboygan South Art teacher, Carol Rokicki, was notified on May 22
that she has been named the 2010 Wisconsin Secondary Outstanding Art
Educator. The honor is bestowed by the Wisconsin Art Education
Association (WAEA.) Rokicki will be honored at the WAEA 2010 Fall
Conference Awards Ceremony.
Rokicki has taught Art in the
Sheboygan Area School District for the past nine years. Rokicki's
nomination letter praised her as "a teacher who welcomes change, who is
flexible, proactive, passionate about what she teaches, and is
open-minded." The nomination also called her an effective art teacher
because she "encourages and pushes others to be the best he/she can be;
she is constantly learning and figuring out ways to help students
become successful in and out of the classroom."
