    South High School Selects Badger State Representatives
    Sheboygan South High School has selected two students to represent the school at the annual Badger Girls State Program this June at U.W. Oshkosh. Julia Vorpahl, daughter of Michael and Mary Vorpahl, and Malia Xiong, daughter of Ye and Shoua Cha Xiong, were selected from their junior class for this activity.

    Sheboygan South High School has also selected two students to represent the school at the annual Badger Boys State Program this June at Ripon College. Bradley Pfeifer, son of Steve and Denise Pfeifer, and Aaron Stenz, son of Daniel and Ruth Stenz, were selected from their junior class for this activity.  Adam Uraynar, son of Charles Uraynar and Fay Uraynar, has been chosen as the alternate candidate.
     
    The selection was made by South High Social Studies and School Counseling staff, as well as student self-nomination, based on the criteria of leadership, interest in government and citizenship, character, fitness, participation in extracurricular activities, and grades.
     
    Badger Girls and Badger Boys provides a working knowledge of local and state government and an opportunity for an experience as self-governing citizens sharing experiences that demonstrate the duties, privileges, and responsibilities of a good citizen.
     
    The sponsor for the Badger Girls and Badger Boys is the American Legion Prescott Bayens Post 83.
