    Sheboygan South Varsity Dance Team Second at State
    The Sheboygan South High School Varsity Dance Team placed second at the State Dance Championship held in La Crosse, WI on February 4, 2012, only six points away from winning the State title. The team was honored as defending State Champions in 2010 and 2011. This is the sixth year in a row that the team has finished in the top three at the State competition in the Hop Hop category.

    All teams must qualify at the Eastern, Southern or Western Regional to compete at the State High School Dance Championships. The South High team earned an outstanding first place finish in the Division 1 Hip Hop category,at the Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches (WACPC) Eastern Regional Competition in Oshkosh, WI on Saturday, January 28, 2012.

    In addition, senior Erica Oldenburg, was selected as a Division 1 All State dance team member. Over sixty-five girls performed solo routines in hopes of earning one of fifteen positions on the all-state team. Erica is the first Sheboygan South dancer to receive such an impressive honor.
