PHONES

A phone is available for student use after school at 3:00. It is located at the attendance window outside the office. The phone is not available on Wednesdays. Students must come into the office and ask permission on Wednesdays. In the case of illness or emergency during the school day students may request to use the phones in the office.

CELL PHONES

Students may possess and use cellular telephones on premises owned, rented by, or under the control of the School District, if the school principal or other administrator in charge of the facility determines that the cellular telephone is used or possessed for a valid medical, school related, educational, vocational or other legitimate reason. A parent or legal guardian of a student may present a written request, on a form prescribed by the School District, for permission to have a student possess and use a cellular telephone for an authorized purpose set forth in this policy. The concerned administrator will approve or disapprove the request after consideration of the reason(s) upon which the request is presented.

Cellular telephones may not be used during the instructional day except with the permission of the administration. The instructional day is defined as being from 7:30 a.m. including all breaks, and school established lunch periods, until the official end of the school day at 2:47 p.m.

  • A parent that would like to have their child possess a cell phone needs to complete a "Request to authorize student possession of cellular telephone" form -- available in the main office.
  • The principal or assistant principal will approve / disapprove the request.
  • If approved the student will receive a card that authorized when and where the phone can be used.
  • The card needs to be kept with the phone at all times.
