Urban Seventh Graders Learn Survival Skills at Maywood
Team 7-1 seventh graders from Urban Middle School spent a day in November at Maywood learning survival skills and doing team-building activities. The students learned how to build shelters, how to make fire using wood and friction, and how to track animals in the woods. The field trip was made possible through a grant from the Joseph Schmidt Family Environmental Fund
Maywood Environmental Park Director Dave Kuckuck was the instructor. Ninety-four students took part in the activities.
