Wilson School Club Volunteers at Holy Cross Cemetery
Wilson Elementary School’s ‘Above The Influence’ group collected American flags from the graves sides of veterans on Friday, November 11. Each year, the flags are placed at the graves by area veterans on Memorial Day and are taken down on Veteran’s Day. As a service project for the Holy Cross Cemetery, the students volunteered their time to help the cemetery sexton collect all of the flags.

Above The Influence is an after school club sponsored by the Sheboygan Area School District.  Wilson School advisor, Dawn Street, says "the purpose of the group is to provide opportunities for students to be of service to others and provide positive peer interactions."  The group plans several service projects each year and is open to third, fourth, and fifth grade students.
