Thank you for taking the time to read the North High Website. I think you will find it easy to maneuver and enjoy all the events that North High has to offer.

This is my 11th year teaching Special Education at North High School. I took the long and winding road to get to where I am today. I graduated from South High School (yes that dreaded school across town) many, many, many, many….well, you get it! My son and daughter both attended North High School as well as my husband. So, you see, when I received my teaching license, what better choice than to teach at North High.

To get back to that long and winding road, I went to college when my son was a senior in high school and my daughter was a junior. I decided if they were going to attend college, I better get a move on and attend too. I received an Associates of Arts degree from UW-Sheboygan in 2004 and then went on to receive a degree in Human Development and Interdisciplinary Studies from UW-Green Bay in 2007. At that time, I was employed as an Special Education Assistant at Farnsworth Middle School and was encouraged by other colleagues to keep studying. I received my Learning Disabilities and Cross Categorical Special Education Teaching Degree from Silver Lake College in 2010. I was fortunate to student teach at North High and was hired for the 2010-2011 school year. I’ve been here ever since.

Speaking of the long and winding road. My husband Joe (Kohler employee) and I live in Green Bay, Wi. Everyday, we get up at 4:30 and hit the road around 5:45. We are fortunate to live near our daughter Jackie, husband Billy and our grandson William. Doubly blessed we also live near our son Jonathan and our three granddaughters, Eloise, Amelia, and Penelope.

I bet you think I am a Beatles fan because of The Long and Winding Road reference. Well, I am not! I am a FANILOW. I have attended 15 Barry Manilow concerts except his farewell concert which was cancelled and rescheduled for the night of parent teacher conferences. As much as I would have loved to see that concert my students are always a priority.

Once again Welcome to North High School. If you need assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to email me at bvirant@sasd.net.
