Scott Jelinek-Zittel has been teaching for over 20 years. He graduated from UW–Eau Claire in 1996 with his B.A. in English and Education and a minor in English as a Second Language. In 2001 He earned his M.S. in Computer Science and Education through Cardinal Stritch University. Prior to his time at North High School, he worked at Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. In 2001 he earned his National Board Certification in English Language Arts. Over the years he has taught a variety of classes including freshman, sophomore, and junior level courses. Additionally, he has taught courses such as Film as Literature, Computer Applications, and Computer Programming. Currently, he serves as the North High English Department chair.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He enjoys traveling and adventure. He has spent time traveling both near and far, ranging from Alaska to Australia. He is an avid sailor, a certified scubadiver, and an intense gardener. He enjoys an active lifestyle that includes golfing, road-biking, and strength training. He also has a creative side. He has spent time as a musician, a sculptor, and a writer.

Most importantly, he is passionate about his students and supporting them. As he delves into the school year, he continues to value direct contact with students, parents, and community members. Feel free to contact him with any questions you might have.
