ELC Principal Shares Preschool Readiness Insights at Nationwide Conference

The Sheboygan Area School District is proud to highlight Early Learning Center Principal Kathryn McKillip and Children’s Librarian Alison Loewen, who were recently invited to speak at a nationwide early childhood education conference.

Loewen created the Ready, Set, PreK program with support from the Kohler Foundation, designing PBS KIDS–based backpacks and activities to help families prepare children for preschool. The program focuses on building confidence, social-emotional skills, and a sense of excitement for learning.

Their presentation shared how this innovative partnership between the Early Learning Center and Mead Public Library is supporting Sheboygan’s youngest learners and strengthening community connections.
