Four Schools Named Schools of Recognition

The Sheboygan Area School District is proud to announce that four elementary schools have been named 2024–25 Wisconsin Schools of Recognition by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
This honor highlights their commitment to student growth and achievement, with SASD representing four of just 95 recognized schools statewide. 

Congratulations to:

• Grant Elementary School
• Jackson Elementary School
• James Madison Elementary School
• Wilson Elementary School

All four schools received the award in the High Impact category, which recognizes schools with a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students that demonstrate above-average achievement when compared to similarly situated schools.

This distinction is based on a rigorous set of criteria, including academic performance, measurable progress in student growth or graduation rates, and the reduction of achievement gaps, particularly among students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

“These outstanding accomplishments are a direct result of the dedication and care our educators, students, and families bring to our schools each day. As a district, we are deeply committed to ensuring every student has access to high-quality learning experiences and the support they need to succeed. This recognition highlights the impact of that shared commitment and the progress we are making together,” said SASD Superintendent Dr. Jake Konrath.

The Wisconsin Schools of Recognition program honors Title I schools that are ensuring educational success for all students, especially among those facing economic challenges.
