Dear Guardians and Caregivers,

On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, students in grades 9–11 will participate in the PreACT assessment. A modified schedule will be in place and is included below.

Seniors will not be required to report to school on this day.

Why Are Students Taking the PreACT?

The Sheboygan Area School District has chosen to administer the PreACT because it:

  1. Aligns with Wisconsin’s ACT and PreACT Secure assessments, providing students with valuable practice for these state assessments.
  2. Builds familiarity with standardized testing, which can support students’ performance on the ACT.
  3. Provides ACT preparation, responding to parent interest in additional opportunities for test preparation.
  4. Provides useful data, allowing teachers to identify and address potential content gaps.

Additional PreACT Practice Test Day Reminders

  • Testing Locations: Students will test in their homerooms unless directed otherwise by a teacher. Testing locations will be shared during homeroom Monday prior and also posted throughout the school on the morning of the test.
  • Schedule: The modified schedule is [linked here] and will also be posted on the North High School website.
  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be available as Grab-and-Go options.
  • Transportation: Buses will run on their regular Tuesday schedule.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the PreACT, please feel free to contact the school at 920-459-3600 or reach out to me directly using the contact information below.
