North Students Up For The Challenge

Two Sheboygan North High School culinary students have been offered the opportunity to be Celebrity Guest Chefs in the Kohler Chefs' Challenge at the Annual Food and Wine Experience, October 23, 6-8 p.m.

The students won the opportunity through fundraising efforts to team up with Destination Kohler chefs. Six teams of Destination Kohler Chefs and Celebrity Guest Chefs working side by side will turn surprise ingredients into culinary masterpieces. Each team has 30 minutes to evaluate their supplies, cook and present their creations.

The North High culinary students partnering with the Kohler Destination Chefs are Raven Neils and Alex Theodoroff. Both students participate in North High School's Hospitality Foods/ProStart Co-op program with Neils working at Margaux and Theodoroff at Il Ritrovo.

The Celebrity Guest Chef that is teamed with The Best of Show Winner will receive a meal for six prepared by a Destination Kohler Chef. The winning Guest Celebrity Chef and Destination Kohler Chef will coordinate a menu to include appetizer, salad, entree, paired with a dinner wine (for the legal adults in the group) and dessert.

"Last year was the first time we participated in this competition and the experience was spectacular," said Karen Sullivan, culinary instructor at North High School. "We wish our students the best of luck and hope they enjoy this exceptional opportunity."

Due to the opportunity presented to North High School from the Woodlake Market and the awesome generosity of their sponsors, the students have already raised over $800 for their Culinary Club activities and expenses.
