Washington Books It
For the third consecutive year Washington School for Comprehensive
Literacy hosted Breakfast and Books, a program which gives students
and their families the opportunity to spend time reading together.
About 140 people participated in the program. Each participant
took home a free book, increasing reading opportunities in students' homes.
"This year the school will host two Breakfast and Books
events; this one and one more in early March to celebrate Dr. Seuss'
birthday. Currently the Breakfast and Books events are sponsored
by the Parent Involvement Committee," said Kathryn Meyer,
