Student Designed Bratwurst Ornament Donned State's Christmas Tree

Fourth graders at James Madison Elementary School created a Christmas ornament for the state Governor's residence.

As part of this program students had the opportunity to visit the Executive Residence in Madison during public tours during the holiday season to view the ornament. The visitor program included James Madison and all other contributing state schools.

This year the theme was "Bright Starts" honoring state originals, people or things that have made Wisconsin great.

The students selected the Sheboygan bratwurst representing a contribution from the City of Sheboygan. The brown, stuffed brat ornament has yellow stars hanging from it. The bright stars name present and past local Sheboygan meat markets on one side. The flip side of the stars listed things you could put on a brat sandwich, like pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard, butter, more butter and the famous Sheboygan hard roll.
