Cleveland Students Collect Food to Help 300 Families

Cleveland Elementary School's Above the Influence Group, a service club aimed at teaching students to make healthy decisions when it comes to drugs and alcohol, recently decided to reach out to the community.

Their latest service project was a food drive for local families touched by today's recessional economy. The group knew of several families who recently lost their jobs and decided to lend a helping hand.

The project proved to be a great way to demonstrate how everyone helping just a little, can make a big difference to someone else. The first grade classroom brought in the most items and will have a movie and popcorn party. The food collected will be distributed over 300 items to families in Cleveland.
