Madison Students Make Donation to Park Project

James Madison Elementary School's Student Council President recently presented a check to Mrs. Jamie Schlueter for the Sheboygan Park Project. The park is being designed to be accessible to children of all abilities.

The funds were raised by James Madison's Autism Unit and Student Council through various fundraisers.

Beginning March of this year, the Autism Unit at James Madison has been hosting monthly popcorn sales, selling bags of popcorn for 25 cents each.

Additionally, the Student Council has been volunteering to make bakery items and bringing them to their school store to sell for 25 cents once a month on Tuesday afternoons. All of the proceeds from their bake sales have gone to the Sheboygan Park Project.

In total, the students raised $125. The donation was presented to Schlueter at the group's last Student Council event on May 18.

Currently the Autism Unit and Student Council have plans to continue their fundraising support for the 2009-2010 academic school. The students said that they are very glad to have participated in such a great event to help build a playground for children with all needs.
