Lake Country Academy Receives Gold Charter School of the Year Award

Lake Country Academy (LCA) teachers, Katie Beine, Melissa Neese, Ruth Scharenbroch and Ruth Smith along with Lake Country Academy Foundation Board President, Carrie Bonk, Lake Country Academy Foundation Board Secretary, Patricia Toutloff, Lake Country Academy Administrator, Carla Koepp and Lake Country Academy Secretary, Jeanine Claypool attended the 2009 Charter School's Award Gala at Turner Hall in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Friday, November 6th.

The night was certainly an exciting evening for Lake Country Academy. Carla Koepp and Carrie Bonk were nominated for Charter School Person of the Year and Ruth Scharenbroch was nominated for Charter School Teacher of the Year. However what came next was a big surprise when Lake Country Academy was awarded the Gold Award for High Performance Charter School of the Year. This category recognized schools that have shown truly outstanding student performance. These were the schools with the highest test results compared to all public charter schools in the state. Sixteen schools were nominated Charter School of the Year, however only three received awards; platinum, gold, silver

"This is the first year I attended the banquet and it was so exciting to see that the school was recognized as a leader in student performance. LCA has always put their students first, it is the culture of the school", said LCA parent and Foundation Board Secretary, Patricia Toutloff.

Lake Country Academy is one of the charter schools in the Sheboygan Area School District.
