North High Bassonist, Meller, Selected to Perform in "Stars of Tomorrow" Concert

North High bassoonist Max Meller was selected in a competitive audition as a finalist in the Young Artist Competition and will be performing side-by-side with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in the "Stars of Tomorrow" concert at the Pabst Theater on the evening of Thursday, February 25. The concert is free and open to the public.

This concert showcases a competition among three featured high school soloists who were selected via competitive audition to perform a concerto movement with the MSO. The concert also includes 31 high school student finalists, including Max, and honorable mention winners of the statewide competition. Participants hail from Milwaukee, Madison, Kenosha, Green Bay, Appleton, West Bend, and many other cities.

The Young Artist Auditions, which were used to select contestants for the Stars of Tomorrow concert, are designed for Wisconsin high school students in grades 9-12. This year, 60 string, woodwind, brass, and percussion students participated in the preliminary competition.
