North Students to Compete at FCCLA State
Sixteen Sheboygan North High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) recently competed in the Regional Star Events Competition that was held in Green Bay. All 16 students were medal winners. Eleven students who earned won a gold or silver medal also earned the right to compete at the State FCCLA Star Events Competition in April in Wisconsin Dells
The state qualifiers who won gold, and the category in which they competed, include: Derek Klockow and Kyle Mares - Hospitality Management; Dia Xiong - Pastries and Baked Goods; Rya Johnson - Pastries and Baked Goods; Mai Soua Chang - Pastries and Baked Goods; Gee Lee - Culinary Arts; Hunter Lewis - Basic Food Production, Terminology and Mathematics Specifications; and Pa Kou Vang - Fashion Design.
The state qualifiers who won silver include: Megan Kunstman - Focus on Children; Pang Dao Vang - Recycle and Redesign; and Mai Coua Yang - Recycle and Redesign.
Other top performers included silver medalists David Callahan - Culinary Arts and Justin Siburt - Basic Food Production, Terminology and Mathematics Specifications. And the bronze medalists include Cassidy Lewis - Career Investigation and Alexandra Jones & Alexandrea Hammes - Interior Design.
