Jackson and A2 Tech Pet Challenge Raises Over $253
Jackson Elementary School and A2 Charter School staffs were challenged to bring in a picture of their pet by using technology. Some pets were posed using laptops, iPods, Wii remotes, computer keyboards, etc. Some pets were listening to music with their headphones on or ear buds in.
When all the pictures were submitted, the students, staff, and parents were encouraged to vote for their favorite picture. One penny equaled one vote. Many of the staff used marketing ideas such as posters and buttons to gain more votes for their pet.
When the voting ended, the total amount of money raised was $253.75. One-half of that will be donated to the Sheboygan County Humane Society and the other half will be deposited into Jackson's technology fund to be used for future purchases for the classrooms.
Kathy Nelesen, A2 teacher, holds a picture of her dog Daisy, Connie Resch holds a picture of her cat
Emma, and Karen Karste holds a picture of her dog Elle. Emma was voted the best pet, Daisy and Elle tied
for second place. The total number of votes cast translated into $253.75 being raised to help the Humane
Society and Jackson's technology fund.
