Jackson-A2 Cultural Night a Success
The students and staff from Jackson Elementary School and the A2 Charter School hosted a Cultural Night on Thursday, May 6. Several booths were on display to highlight the many cultures that are represented by the students who attend the two elementary schools.
A father and his two sons, who both attend Jackson, proudly displayed their Holland heritage in their booth. Visitors to the booth had the opportunity to eat cheese samples and windmill cookies. To add to the effect, both boys donned Dutch clothes - complete with wooden shoes. To further highlight their heritage, the boys recited the following poem, which is an family original:
Masters of the cheese;
Masters of the flowers;
Masters of the windmill towers;
Pretty good sailors;
Pretty good tailors.
