A2 Students Complete Service Project
Students at the A2 Charter School learn more than just reading, writing, listening, speaking, science, mathematics and social studies. They also learn the importance of good citizenship. To promote good citizenship, each year students choose a specific cause that they will focus on so they can better understand the meaning and importance of altruism in a community.
Recently, the students spent a morning shoveling sand to clear and reinforce walkways in the dunes at Kohler Andrae State Park. The picture shows some of the students doing a victory dance after using shovels and bark and sometimes their bare hands to fill in a large depression in the dunes that threatened the safety of a walk way.
The A2 Charter School is a Sheboygan Area School District charter school for self-directed fourth and fifth graders. The school is housed at Jackson Elementary School, which is located at 2530 Weeden Creek Road in Sheboygan.
