Cooper Fourth Graders Go Spelunking
On Friday, October 8, the fourth grade students from Cooper Elementary School visited Ledgeview Caves in Chilton, Wisconsin. During their visit, the students learned a brief history of the formation of caves and how those caves came into existence. The students also had the opportunity to be "spelunkers" in a cave system that has five caves connected by crawl tunnels. After climbing down two twenty-five foot ladders into sink holes, students explored Carolyn's cavern, the Bat Cave, Wayne's World, and the Wishing Well. Students were able to wipe 'magic' mud on their faces prior to leaving the cave.
