James Madison Students Treasure Geocaching Experience
James Madison Elementary students in the second grade classes of Therese Urben, Jenny Engels and Norma Back recently went geocaching to extend their science, language arts, and social studies learning. During book club, one group of students read the story The Seven Treasure Hunts, wrote their own clues to a treasure, and followed a peer's clues. Students then used GPS (global positioning systems) devices to find hidden caches on the school grounds.
