Horace Mann Students Write from Unusual Point of View
Did you know that pumpkins could talk? Well, for a recent writing project, team 6-1 students at Horace Mann Middle School got inside the heads of pumpkins. The students wrote stories from the point of view of the pumpkin, learning the meaning of personification. The students were also asked to illustrate their stories and then spent time decorating small pumpkins to turn them into characters. So, when you hear whispering on your front porch, you never know. It might be your pumpkin!
A couple of "characters" that were created from pumpkins.
