Cleveland and Montessori Students Publish Books

Students who attend Cleveland Elementary School and N.E.W. Montessori School are celebrating the fact that they have worked together to publish their own classroom books. Several students also wrote individual books. The students experienced the process of writing first drafts, creating illustrations and making revisions before each book was finished.

The hardcover classroom books included poetry and covered topics ranging from ‘all about me’ to ‘my favorites.” Individual books included the following genres - narrative, biographies, fiction, nonfiction, riddles, ABC books, etc.

The schools collaborated with Studentreasures Publishing, a division of Nationwide Learning, to publish the books.

Published books included the fourth grade classroom book where each student in the class wrote about what they wanted to be when they grow up, an ABC book one student made, and the classroom book that the kindergarten class made showcasing their favorite animals.
