October 2, 2020
Dear Sheboygan Area School District families,
As we look forward into our school year, we want to share several calendar updates as well as a few reminders and resources.
Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences
November face-to-face parent-teacher conferences will not be held given our current COVID-19 limitations. Instead, we have made the following adjustments to our school schedule for Friday, November 13, 2020:
2-Hour Early Release Days now No School Days
The following days were scheduled as virtual days under the Hybrid model plan. However, given our ability to meet instructional minute requirements, there will be No School on:
The last day of school will now be Tuesday, June 8 (full day).
You can find the 2020-2021 School Year calendar on our district website at www.sheboygan.k12.wi.us/calendar
End of First Quarter
We will be asking families of our online students if they plan to remain in the virtual setting or return to the classroom the week of October 12. This gives us time to adjust our classrooms and rosters to ensure we are following all recommended mitigation strategies.
Masks in Schools
Governor Evers has extended the state-wide order requiring face coverings until November 21. Regardless of a statewide order, all students and staff within the Sheboygan Area School District will be required to wear a mask or face covering as outlined and approved in our Fall Reopening Plan - Hybrid Model. Accommodations will be made for students when physical, medical, or developmental needs exist.
Technology Support
We will continue to communicate with families regarding health, safety, and any changes to school learning models. Please ensure your contact information - including an email address - is up to date with your school office. You can also customize your communication preferences, including adding a phone number for text messages, in the Skylert tab in Skyward Family Access. Click here for directions.
I encourage you to visit our Sheboygan Area School District website, our School Nurse Resources page, and the Sheboygan County Public Health School Resources for Parents page for the most up-to-date information.
Thank you,
Seth A. Harvatine
