One of the strengths of the Sheboygan Area School District is the variety of opportunities and choices offered to families, especially when it comes to school choice. Every student is guaranteed enrollment in their neighborhood school, which is determined by the student’s home address. Families also have the opportunity to request to attend a different school in the district.
But no matter which location you choose, you will find all our schools offer a comprehensive education built on innovation, strong communication, and whole-student well being. Every school educates a little differently, making them each unique, which in turn offers you the chance to tailor an education path that fits your child’s needs and goals.
We celebrate the diversity of our community and our schools reflect that. Some offer very specialized learning, such as the Étude schools which use project-based authentic learning to increase critical thinking and solve real-world problems. Students present their work every single day — from kindergarten to senior year. Or Sheridan Elementary which is home to the Dual Language Program which offers academic instruction in both English and Spanish. Students may begin the Dual Language Program in kindergarten and continue on through middle school at Horace Mann. These are just two examples of the range of choices you can make.
In addition, we believe in supporting our entire school community, especially the families that support us. We have very active parent-teacher relationships, health and wellness opportunities, and learning and enrichment programs that benefit the whole family.
The Sheboygan Area School District accepts school choice requests for the following year during the application period of December 1 - February 8. Visit our Schools page to learn more about our school options and to determine which school is best for your family.
