North and South High School students, staff, and guests attended a Groundbreaking Ceremony for House Construction Project 2024 on Tuesday, September 10 at the construction site in the Stonebrook Crossing Subdivision on the south side of Sheboygan. Project 2024 is the 27th home that will be built by SASD students enrolled in Career & Technical Education classes from Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South High Schools.
North High School Senior Brendan Severns has been working at Masters Gallery Foods through the Youth Apprenticeship Program this school year and appreciates the knowledge and experience he has gained from working at a local company while still in high school.

Access to the free CAPP classes through Lakeland University rolled out this fall, and the number of students enrolled for college credit has increased by over 35%, with 1,140 students enrolled in a Lakeland CAPP class at North or South High School in the first semester.

As early as 9th grade, North and South High School students can choose from ten technical education classes, like Electricity, Electronics & Automation, or Power Mechanics. Exposure to these classes early in their high school career gives students ample time to dive deeper into a certain area, explore other skilled trades, and expand their learning by taking advantage of a nine-week co-op experience or a 9 to 12-month youth apprenticeship.

As he completes his sophomore year of high school, Davis Knowles has already been exploring options in his areas of interest for his future career path. Davis has taken classes in engineering, robotics, and automation and is part of the Red Raider Robotics team.

Four North High School students competed at the HOSA-Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference in Wisconsin Dells earlier this month, and two advanced to Internationals. The students competed in events such as Medical Math, Medical Reading, Medical Law and Ethics, and Veterinary Science.
SASD was the first district in the CESA 7 area to have four Regional Pathway Maps approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in October 2021.

Earlier this month, seventh and eighth-grade students from the Sheboygan Area School District visited Lakeshore Technical College for the Explore Your Future Event, in partnership with the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce. Students took a unique personality test and were given results that guided them to explore careers well-suited to their personality type.

This unique, innovative opportunity gives students the chance to experience hands-on work and gain skills, experience, and connections to pursue a career in construction trades.

Senior Andrew Haase is no stranger to the Kohler | Johnsonville Advanced Technology Center at North High School. In fact, he has learned so much that he qualified for a Youth Apprenticeship at Kohler Company, which he started this past summer.

The Sheboygan Area School District celebrated the graduating class of 2022 with the fourth annual Senior Signing Day on Thursday, June 2. Senior Signing Day is designed to recognize our seniors and their next steps in college and careers. High school graduates were joined by universities, technical colleges, military representatives, and area employers.
Congratulations to Shazarie (Shay) Benjamin, a senior at South High School, and Emily Allen, a sophomore at North High School, who recently won 1st place for their presentations at the Educators Rising State Summit and Competition and qualified for the National competition in Washington D.C.
Congratulations to South High School junior Lucas Jowett who created the top architectural design selected for next year’s house project! All of the student designs are evaluated by a group of industry builders and educators. Lucas’s design will be built in the 2022-2023 school year in the Stonebook Crossing subdivision in Sheboygan.

Senior Patrick Beniger II has spent a good deal of his time at South High School involved with the Red Raider Manufacturing program. He’s taken a variety of Tech Ed classes and participated in nine-week co-ops at Old Wisconsin and American Orthodontics, where he is also spending a full year in a youth apprenticeship. Read more.
Two years ago, North High School senior Kaden Gorges took on a formidable challenge: the restoration of his 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback. He’s had to resolve countless problems that come up when working on an older vehicle, including wiring issues and replacing old parts, not to mention getting the car running in the first place. Now, thanks to the Red Raider Manufacturing program, Kaden’s restoration project has relocated to the classroom.

The North and South High School House Construction students held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for Project 2021 on Tuesday, September 14 at the construction site located on Lot #78 in the new Stonebrook Crossing. Project 2021 is the 24th home that will be built by SASD students.
