High School Students Take Advantage of Free Lakeland CAPP Classes

Access to the free CAPP classes through Lakeland University rolled out this fall, and the number of students enrolled for college credit has increased by over 35%, with 1,140 students enrolled in a Lakeland CAPP class at North or South High School in the first semester.

SASD Grads Pursue Careers in Electrical Industry

As early as 9th grade, North and South High School students can choose from ten technical education classes, like Electricity, Electronics & Automation, or Power Mechanics. Exposure to these classes early in their high school career gives students ample time to dive deeper into a certain area, explore other skilled trades, and expand their learning by taking advantage of a nine-week co-op experience or a 9 to 12-month youth apprenticeship.

Two NHS Students Qualify for HOSA-Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference

Four North High School students competed at the HOSA-Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference in Wisconsin Dells earlier this month, and two advanced to Internationals. The students competed in events such as Medical Math, Medical Reading, Medical Law and Ethics, and Veterinary Science.

Two years ago, North High School senior Kaden Gorges took on a formidable challenge: the restoration of his 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback. He’s had to resolve countless problems that come up when working on an older vehicle, including wiring issues and replacing old parts, not to mention getting the car running in the first place. Now, thanks to the Red Raider Manufacturing program, Kaden’s restoration project has relocated to the classroom.
