School Closings & Delays
Winter Weather
Winter has several factors that contribute to school closures, delays, or early dismissals. Snow, wind, ice, or wind chill can all play a role in determining the decision. Looking after the safety of our students is the most important factor. All official school closings due to weather will be determined by the Superintendent's office.
Closings and cancellations can be found on the SASD home page or by calling 803-SNOW(7669). Make sure you click the refresh button when checking the SASD webpage for school closings.
Families with students in the Sheboygan Area School District will receive an automated phone call, email, and/or text message through our communications system. This information is also posted on the Sheboygan Area School District's Facebook and Instagram accounts.
As soon as a decision is made to close or delay school, area radio and television stations will be notified. Announcements will be made on the following stations beginning at approximately 6:00 a.m.:
- WBAY TV 2 - listings page
- WTMJ TV 4 - listings page
- WFRV TV 5
- WITI TV 6 - listings page
- WXER 104.5 FM
- WJUB 1420 AM
- WHBL 1330 AM - listings page
- WLKN 98.1 FM
Early Release Information
If weather conditions warrant the early release of students, the school day will be shortened by two hours from the normal afternoon release time. There will be no afternoon 4K classes. The buses run the normal routes, but at an earlier time based on the revised school day schedule. No activity buses run on those days.
If school is closed early due to weather, all after-school and evening activities are also cancelled.

Being Prepared
Please remember to have your children dress appropriately for the weather, ensuring they are prepared for unexpected changes. This is especially important for children waiting for the buses that may be delayed due to road conditions.
