Program Overview
In partnership with the Sheboygan Area School District, Shoreline Metro offers a free ride program for students actively enrolled and attending a school within the district and the public transit system service area. The program began with the 2018-2019 school year. Students are able to use Shoreline Metro during all hours of service and any route for any purpose including school, work, social activities and appointments. Students simply show the driver the special bus pass when boarding to receive the free ride (middle school and high school students only). Faculty and staff are also permitted to use this program by showing proper ID when boarding the bus. Elementary students do not need a pass.
- SASD middle school and high school students: Are now required to have one of two passes in order to use Shoreline Metro for the Free Rides program sponsored by the Sheboygan Area School District. No other forms of ID will be valid for this program.
- For students with a smartphone: They must download the HotSpot Parking app from the app store and follow instructions on setting up an account. They will have access to a digital bus pass that is stored on their smartphone (in the app).
- For students without a smartphone: They must obtain a voucher from their middle or high school office. The voucher is then redeemed at the Shoreline Metro Customer Service Office located at the Shoreline Metro Transfer Station. Authorized students will then receive a Student Bus Pass good for the current school year. Students may be asked for their school ID as well
Both passes are good for service during all regular service days and hours on any Shoreline Metro route (except the seasonal Trolley route).

The program is an all-in-one resource guide that provides program details, teaches you how to set up the app and access the free bus pass, and outlines Shoreline Metro services and route information. We have made it simple to access all this information in one convenient location. SASD Student IDs are no longer permitted.
