Reading Incentives throughout the year promote school-wide reading. These activities actively engage, motivate and challenge students to read beyond the classroom walls. Reading Incentives strive to promote the love of reading, reading for pleasure and entertainment and the freedom to choose topics of one's own interest. Students and teachers create a monthly reading goal (number of books or reading minutes). Students track their reading progress and earn incentives as they reach their goals. Past incentives included: earning books, Book-It/Pizza Hut rewards, Bookworm Gardens field trips, Dairy Queen Incentives, and special assemblies. |
