Welcome to the Art Department! Art is for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Each grade level will focus on different aspects of Art.
6th-grade art is a required course. In this class students will cover basic art topics such as the color wheel, elements of design and principles of design, using 2D/ 3D materials and other art-related concepts.
7th-grade art is an elective course. In this class, students will focus on art history and create projects according to the unit covered. We will start with the Stone Age and end around Abstract Expression/ modern-day art.
8th-grade art is an elective course. In this class, we will focus on ‘art about me’. Here students will complete projects that are reflective and meaningful to themselves. Projects vary throughout the year but are all personal projects.
