Best Buddies is an international organization dedicated to ending the social and physical isolation of people with disabilities. Our club empowers students with and without disabilities to form meaningful friendships, and learn self-advocacy skills and communication skills. Each month we meet as a group after school for a fun activity to foster these relationships. We ask club members to reach out to one another outside of meeting times to continue to develop those relationships. This may be hallway conversations, sitting together at lunch, a positive email, or other ideas that the pair has decided upon. As a large group, we will also participate in state, national and international campaigns like the annual Brewers tailgate and game and Friendship Walk. Interested students with and without disabilities should attend the informational meetings in September and early October each year and complete the membership application. Mr. Charles Pirlot and Mrs. Amy Matczak along with educational assistant support staff, advise this group.
