Winter has a number of factors which contribute to school closure, delay or early dismissal. Snow, wind, ice or wind chill can all play a role in determining the decision. Looking after the safety of our students is the most important factor. All official school closings due to weather will be determined by the Superintendent's office.
Closings and cancellations can be found on the SASD home page or by calling 803-SNOW(7669). Make sure you click the refresh button when checking the SASD webpage for school closings.
Families with students in the Sheboygan Area School District will receive an automated phone call, email, and/or text message through our School Messenger/Skylert system.
This information is also posted on the Sheboygan Area School District's Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts.
As soon as a decision is made to close or delay school, area radio and television stations will be notified. Announcements will be made on the following stations beginning at approximately 6:00 am:

If weather conditions warrant the early release of students, the school day will be shortened by two hours from the normal afternoon release time. There will be no afternoon 4K classes. The buses run the normal routes, but at an earlier time based on the revised school day schedule. No activity buses run on those days.
If school is closed early due to weather, all after-school and evening activities are also cancelled.
Please remember to have your children dress appropriately for the weather, making sure that children will be prepared for unexpected changes in the weather. This is especially important for children waiting for the buses that may be delayed due to road conditions.
