Family Letter: Shoreline Metro Moves to Digital Bus Pass

August 25, 2022

Español - Hmoob

Dear Sheboygan Area School District families,

For the last several years, the Sheboygan Area School District has partnered with Shoreline Metro to offer free rides for students enrolled and attending a school within the district.

New this year, Shoreline Metro will utilize a digital bus pass for middle and high school students and staff members. Elementary students do not require a pass for free rides.

With the digital bus pass, students are able to use Shoreline Metro during all hours of service and on any route for any purpose, including school, work, social activities, and appointments. Students and faculty simply show the driver the Student Bus Pass when boarding to receive the free ride.

Digital Bus Pass Available September 6
The new digital bus passes will be available after September 6, 2022. Please note: students will enter their Student ID Number to access the digital pass.

Digital Bus Pass (or Paper Pass) Must Be Used Starting October 3
Effective October 3, 2022, all students utilizing free Shoreline Metro transportation must use the new digital pass or obtain a printed pass from their school office. School IDs will no longer be accepted for free fares.

Students who are unable to utilize the digital bus pass in the smartphone app can obtain a voucher for a paper pass in their school office.

Shoreline Metro has created a resource guide for the SASD Student Pass Program that:

  • provides program details,
  • teaches you how to set up the app and access the free bus pass, and
  • outlines Shoreline Metro services and route information.

Please read this program guide to ensure your child is prepared to ride with Shoreline Metro.

Visit the Shoreline Metro website at https://shorelinemetro.com/fares/sasd-students/ to view the Program Guide and for all of the most up-to-date information regarding free rides for students.

For future reference, this information has also been updated on the Transportation page of the Sheboygan Area School District website.

Any questions about free student fares can be directed to Shoreline Metro at (920) 459-3281 or via email at contact@shorelinemetro.com.
